Adapting with the times and your needs


Many Masters Athletes miss live competitions, camaraderie and something to work toward. People and organizations have adapted during these challenging, ever changing times. Worldwide Virtual Masters Challenge 2020 helped meet the needs by providing an alternative to the cancelled WMA Championship and honor Toronto2020.

Athletes, officials, administrators, family and friends embraced and made the most of the opportunity. This demonstrated the need for something everyone can depend on – Challenges.

Each Challenge will be planned around whatever is happening around the world. Planning will focus on ensuring that as many people who want to participate can.


Hemispheres I will be contested in the first half of the year. The concept of Hemispheres is to engage athletes in the Spring in the Northern Hemisphere and the Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. Athletes will be able to compete multiple times and, if their age group changes during the competition time frame,

Championship will depend on whether WMA Championship is contested. If not, Championship will be much like a WMA Championship. Athletes will compete in a final (only one eligible performance per event) in select events. Competition time frame will be about the same too, except there will be three full weekends within the Challenge.
